born out of
14 hours of panic.
Hey there, fellow traveller. We’ve been exactly where you are — 50 browser tabs open, flight two weeks away, absolutely terrified.

the flight that
started it all.
It was 11pm, just two weeks before our first major long-haul flight with a fiercely independent, highly energetic 14-month-old. Instead of feeling excited about our holiday, I was consumed by one specific, paralysing thought:
“How on earth am I going to keep this tiny human contained in a metal tube for 14 hours without a total meltdown?”
So I did what any desperate parent does. I opened 50 browser tabs. I spent hours reading parenting blogs, scrolling through travel forums, watching social media plane hacks.
I quickly learned that screens don’t hold a toddler’s attention for long, and flashing, noisy toys are a fast track to making enemies with the entire cabin. Experts pointed toward tactile, quiet, mess-free activities — suction spinners, painter’s tape, water-reveal books. Great. Except for one major problem.
why hasn’t someone
already done this?
The moment we landed, one thought wouldn’t leave: why does a parent have to endure weeks of pre-flight logistics just to get a box of simple, effective toys? Why isn’t this curated, stocked locally, and ready to go next-day?
So we built it. Baby on Bored was created to completely eliminate that pre-travel panic for Australian parents. We did the research. We tested the products in the real world — and at 30,000 feet. And we brought all the stock right here to Australia.
Everything stocked in Sydney. Order today, ships today. No 3-week track-and-trace anxiety.
Every item tested by real parents on real long-haul flights. We know what works — we cut everything that doesn’t.
A 1-year-old and a 4-year-old have completely different needs. Every pack is built for a specific age — not just “kids.”
“We can’t promise your flight will be entirely tantrum-free — they are kids, after all. But we can promise you’ll walk down that jetway armed with the absolute best tools to survive it.”
